Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sonnet (“Sonnet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including the Sonnet mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sonnet. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are legally permitted to enter into these Terms.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information up to date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.

3. User Content

Sonnet allows users to create, post, and share content, including text, images, audio, and video (“User Content”).

You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting content on Sonnet, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and for ensuring that it complies with these Terms and applicable laws.

3.1 Use of Content for Artificial Intelligence Training

Sonnet is a platform dedicated to authentic, human-created expression.

  • Sonnet does not use User Content to train artificial intelligence models, machine learning systems, or generative AI technologies.
  • We do not license, sell, or provide User Content to third parties for the purpose of training artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
  • Third parties are expressly prohibited from using User Content made available on the Service for training, fine-tuning, or developing artificial intelligence or generative models, except where the content owner has provided explicit permission or such use is permitted by applicable law.

While we take reasonable measures to discourage unauthorized scraping and misuse of content, Sonnet cannot guarantee that User Content will never be accessed or misused by third parties acting in violation of these Terms or applicable laws.

4. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You agree not to post, share, or engage in content or behavior that:

a. Violates the law

Including content that is illegal, fraudulent, or infringes on the rights of others.

b. Is pornographic or sexually explicit

Sonnet does not allow pornographic content, including explicit sexual acts intended for sexual arousal. Non-pornographic, artistic, or suggestive content may be permitted at our discretion, consistent with community standards similar to platforms such as Instagram or Threads.

c. Is generated by artificial intelligence

Sonnet is a platform for authentic, human-created expression. Content that is fully or primarily generated by artificial intelligence or generative AI tools is not permitted.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • AI-generated text posts
  • AI-generated images or videos
  • AI-generated audio or synthetic media presented as original human work

d. Is abusive, hateful, or harmful

Including harassment, threats, hate speech, exploitation, or content that promotes violence or discrimination.

e. Impersonates others or misrepresents identity

Including false affiliation, impersonation, or deceptive practices.

5. Generative AI Enforcement and Strike System

To enforce our policy against generative AI content, Sonnet uses a three-strike enforcement system, similar in principle to copyright strike systems used by other platforms.

  • First strike: Content removal and warning
  • Second strike: Content removal and temporary account restrictions
  • Third strike: Account suspension or permanent termination

We reserve the right to take immediate action, including account suspension or removal, for severe or repeated violations.

6. Content Moderation and Enforcement

We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to:

  • Remove or restrict access to any content that violates these Terms
  • Suspend or terminate accounts for violations
  • Investigate reports and enforce our community standards

Enforcement decisions are made at our discretion and may occur without prior notice.

7. Reporting and Blocking

Users may report content or accounts that violate these Terms and may block other users. Abuse of reporting or blocking features may itself result in enforcement action.

8. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time using the in-app account deletion feature. Upon deletion, your account and associated data will be removed or anonymized in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and trademarks, is owned by Sonnet and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service without our permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, availability, or accuracy of the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sonnet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
